Weingart was known as “the father” of New Wave or Swiss Punk typography. He Changed how type was traditionally structured in Swiss Typography. He was a rebel of the time. He used metal type, paper, camera and a xerox machine to create his art. He wanted to look at type from a different perspective and played with the form of each letter, its thinkness, orientation, etc.
He created a circular packaging for the metal type so it wouldnt get lost, and even this created one of his well know types of art are from the type letters in this circular format.
He created a Type book of all his methods and practiuces that inspires designers now to go outside the norm of traditional design and typography.
