Spread for the project

Coins are a window into a place’s culture, trade relations, prominent figures, and so much more. Coins reveal a lot more about a state and also influence how the country is perceived outside. It’s almost like the design on the coin becomes something we associate with the place’s culture itself.

For my project, I made Greek coins. They have been around since 600 BCE or earlier. They gained fame as a symbol of the city and were in use for a long time.

I believe the coins of the past have influenced the current coins used today, and they would have tried many variants before deciding on the shape we still use today. Coin designs are something we continue to use daily.

An image of the created artifact

I would give myself an eight on ten as I have followed all the instructions in the brief and created a historical artifact from 600 BCE. The Greek Coins are an example of how a coin can influence our perception of a culture.
