BicycleCrumbs – Illustration, design, and cycling in Portland.

Going by the pen name of Bicycle Crumbs this visual creative, and compelling writer is a favourite of mine because they have merged three of my favourite things into meticulous and detailed work. Part of the reason I find this particular image impactful because I actually own the bag depicted! (as well as the lock and a similar-looking camera)
They have very successfully utilized points and lines filled with “Ben-Day Process” styled textures and topographical linework throughout the piece without cluttering the design. It feels like a masterful execution of textural effects to create depth to the bag suspended on a plane of fairly uniform tone. The textures depict the folds of the material without explicitly using the actual Cordura fabric of the bag.
