The use of space, in this case, harsh shadows, is cleverly used in Thiago Lehmann’s comic book cover illustration. The sword, figure, foreground, and background seemingly melt into each other. His use of contrast with his bold colours and shadows make the figures vibrant and pop from the page, and the negative space gives the illustration room to breathe.
