REC 152

I have to admit, that I actually learned a lot of new things in this course. The thing that astonished me the most was my ecological footprint. How could I use that much of a world, if that is not even there in a few years. The movie of water was one of my favorites. It showed me so many factors that I still didn’t know. Like how India creates leather, that I wear, who suffers under those creations and more.

I want to pass these ideas in my future:

  • Recycling
  • Less plastic waste
  • Ocean protection
  • Less (mostly red) meat consumption
  • Sustainable transit

I have a roommate in my house that helps me to understand the things that I still do “wrong” today and how I can change it. She lives “zero waste” and just watching her creates a lot of awareness for me. When I won a price in a sustainability contest of Capilano University, they told me that they were looking for more people and that they have jobs open for other students. This summer I want to apply for this fall term and hopefully help to create more awareness with other students.  I found out so many things in this class, that I have not known before and I think it is so important for everyone to know. Because if we do not do anything against destroying our planet, who will? If there is no more planet in the future, we lost. I saw a movie recently, where the planet was destroyed because of pollution and humanity escaped to another planet, because our earth “turned” against them. This is not what I want our future to look like. So I will try my best in creating awareness and sharing my thoughts with students, teachers, friends and family.

Here are some of the projects that we have worked on in class:
