The Art Nouveau movement has influenced much of modern art and history as we know it today. With the use of pastel colours in many art pieces of this time, I wanted to focus on this art period as I was drawn to this style while I was researching for this project. Through the use of visuals, I wanted my mood board to imitate an organic atmosphere much like the environment seen in Art Nouveau; thus, I decided to create an asymmetrical shape with my images. While doing so, I also incorporated elements that are frequently seen with this movement, such as patterns created by William Morris, Japanese art and Alfons Mucha – an Art Nouveau artist.

Through researching and assembling this project, I have learnt more about the history and the artists who shaped this period in art. I understood more about the influences of Art Nouveau and how Japanese art and nature had a significant role in shaping this movement. In total, I spent around 5.5 hours on the project and would give myself a 7/10 as I felt that I repeated myself in the captions because of the inadequate amount of information I found. I think I could have also realigned my images to make them more organized and easier to follow along. Despite this, however, I had fun researching and learning more about Art Nouveau through this project.
