Theo Dimson was Born in London, Ontario and grew up around comics books and magazines, Dimson fell in love with design at a very early on at a young age. He studied at the Ontario College of Art which he was given a scholarship to attend. He graduated from the University in 1950. After graduation, Dimson, began a three-year apprenticeship with Art Associates Limited in Toronto. He freelanced for seven years before rejoining the firm in 1960 as vice-president of creative design.

In 1965, Dimson became president and director of a new partnership Reeson Dimson & Smith Ltd. The company later became Dimson & Smith Ltd. and maintained this name until Dimson created Theo Dimson Designs Inc. in 1985. He is the president and creative director of this company. Dimson has a very graphic illustration style that was fostered by his love for comic books and graphic magazines, he’s able to make a bold statement with minimal detail and interesting contrasting colour palettes. Overall I enjoy Theo Dimsons work and think he has definitely built a recognizable style surrounding his name.
