I had a hard time figuring out a topic at the start. After some deliberating and receiving feedback from Judy, I chose to go with the subject of “Anatomy of Typography”. To bring an aspect of relatability, I linked the anatomy of typography with the theme of human anatomy. The title page starts in a clinic waiting room, and then as you flip through the pages, you are shown spreads of different doctor/medical-related activities. I used a bold turquoise colour as the background to make it bright and bold. For the zine project, I spent about 1-hour planning and researching, then about 3 hours physically making the zine. The mark I would give myself is a 8/10. I enjoy the theme I came up with for the assignment, but I wish I had put more time towards planning and designing the illustration and structuring of the text. In the past, I noticed, I put a lot of pressure on myself and take a bit too long on my assignments. For this assignment, I attempted to change this habit. I know that changing this habit will be an adjustment. Hopefully, I will find a balance between the quality of work and the time it takes to complete the assignment.
