Dance like no body is watching!
Solan, the official art exhibition of Paris, rejected Renoir and his request to have a showcase. He then decided to team up with various artists such as Monet, Sisley, Pissarro, and others to create the first Impressionist exhibition in April of 1874. The public’s response was disapproving towards the event. But during and after the show, people were intrigued by his work. And by challenging the norms of painting methods, he helped birth the movement called Impressionism. I like how he used soft edges, shapes and no lines to create beautiful pieces.
One direction, Impressionism
Impressionism was a movement of importance and hence why Auguste Renoir impacted the direction in art history. He has inspired many artists from that time, today and for the artists of the future.
