Icon of Her Time!

Frida is undoubtedly important in art history. She is an inspiration to many artists, particularly female artist’s as she was a revolution for woman-made art. Frida was in a bus accident that caused her lifelong health problems. She was bedridden, and her father made an easel to practice her painting. That was the start of our view and understanding of her life and soul.

The people at the time loved her work, even more so after her death. A recognized artist (Diego Rivera) liked her work. The two got on well, then later married. The pain she felt by marriage made her inspiration for her work.

My Thoughts

I think Frida is a great artist and utilizes visual means to express herself, her surroundings, as well as her inner and out struggles. She has a unique intuition for tones and painting techniques. Frida is an excellent person to get one’s inspiration. I relate to her need to express her inner thoughts and emotions visually. For her to do that so well is excellent.
