For this phase I was tasked with compiling everything I did and presenting it to the class. I usually don’t have trouble presenting which is a plus, but sometimes the formatting for my slides get pretty bland. With this project, I was able to present all of the drawing work I did and the research my mentor and I did in terms of art fundamentals and character design theory.
What did you learn?
Review, review, review your work and edit the presentation to best show your work. Sometimes you don’t need to show everything, only the good bits. Make sure you’re succinct, and compress sentences to their bare bones as much as possible to keep attention span. Instead of using multiple words to describe one concept, find a single word that means everything.
What was most rewarding?
I think after putting everything together, being able to see my work from start to finish felt super rewarding, remembering where I started and where I ended up, I’m proud of the work I’ve made and how it’s all come together.
What was most challenging?
I think formatting the presentation to make it look pretty, and figuring out how to organize my presentation was quite the challenge. I figured that by breaking up all the steps of my project, it would have a better flow. Another challenge I had was fitting everything into a 5 minute presentation, as I had done a lot of work that could have spanned into a 15 minute presentation.
