Medieval fashion is seen in this painting of noble women.

During the 14th century most textiles were made with wool in Europe. Wool was warm, which was important because the beginning of the century was a mini ice age. Some nobility did wear silk, however it was extremely expensive and rare.

As for architecture one of the more common styles from this period is Norman architecture. Characterized by its arches and large, round pillars Norman buildings are often cold and austere seeming. Norman cathedrals were often decorated with carved embellishments and were sometimes even painted. Later on gothic architecture started to appear, characterized by narrow, cramped looking steeples, pillars and windows.

Common objects in medieval Europe were things like pipes, bone whistles, jugs for water and ale, horseshoes and swords and knives. Plates were practically unheard of and most people would eat off of a slice of bread.
