The book “I used to be a design student” contains many words of wisdom for young designers such as:
“Personally experience as much art, design and architecture as possible.”
“Have an open mind towards the world.”
“Pay close attention to the things you like and why.”
“Never copy. Only get influenced.”
The 50 designers interviewed overwhelming noted that curiosity is the most important quality in a designer. What does that mean? And how do we stay curious? There are interesting, inspiring things all around us, all we have to do is keep our eyes and ears open.
