Personally, I think Foster’s illustrations are captivating, full of motion and contrast.  His style is painterly and includes elements of storytelling, primarily sci-fi. This has served him well as he has worked with publications such as: Dark Horse Comics, DC Comics, Scholastic, Little Brown, and many others! I remember seeing book covers he illustrated on shelves as a kid and being immediately drawn to them, so I find his art very nostalgic as well.
