
Rogier van der Weyden, original name Rogier de la Pasture. He was born in around 1399 to 1400 in Tournai, Belgium and passed away on June 18, 1464, in Brussel. In his time, Rogier van der Weyden was the most profound and influential northern, European artist, and he was the first Flemish painters to work in oils. In his lifetime he is a very successful artist, he was respected as a creator and his artwork was admired. His paintings were exported or taken to Italy and Spain. he also received commissions from Philip the Good, Netherlandish nobility, foreign princes and others.
