As people know, ancient Rome is famous for fighting battles. To make that possible. the material of the weapons and tool is the key to its success, which is metal. iron would be the most revolutionary material at all times. For wars, soldiers used hard iron weapons to defeat their enemy, but they used wooden weapons instead of iron one for practices and training. For agricultural purposes, iron tools like a pick, knife, scythe, spokeshave and so on. comparing to the stone ones are much durable and functional. On medical levels, Today’s medical achievements are attributed to the tools of ancient Rome. The scalpel is one of the greatest surgical tools created by ancient Roman people. other than that, the intelligent Romans used molten metal and reformed it, created the first head-cast metal hammer. than the hammer is used as a tool to shape metal complexes such as weapons and armor.other tool of ancient Romans such as navigation devices and navigation counterweights. while sailing, it’s easier to adjust the height of the sails.

Romans used many different methods to create metal tools and objects. The most frequently used method is called the lost wax technique. To create the moulds, they made a replica model of the desired shape. And then, pressed the model into a clay mould. once the ceramic mould is dry, it could be heated and the wax or metal melted until it could be poured from the mold. By pouring metal into the aperture of the mold, exact copies of the object could be cast. As a result, the creations of a line of objects which used this process are uniform and neat. After combining the results and learn about it with my group mate，we are impressed by the intelligence of the ancient people. From the research, I learned about the ancient techniques on moulding tools and the tools they use at that period of time.
