In the Tang dynasty, people don’t have cellphones to entertain with. Instead of that, people invented games, such as CuJu(蹴鞠), an ancient football, JiJu(击鞠), an ancient polo, and ChuiWan(捶丸) ancient golf.

Other than that, there is a game is different from the games I mentioned above, and it is born out of archery. Ancient Tang people use wooden balls as the arrows and the woodpiles as the targets. As the ball rollout, a ball launch is performed. This game is called MuShe(木射), bowling of the Tang Dynasty.

The rules are almost the same as the current bowling, the only difference is the scoring system. The modern bowling ball is played several times with nine wooden stakes. For MuShe, there are only fifteen stakes. These fifteen stakes are all shaped, narrow on top and wide at the bottom, ten of them are painted in red and five in black.

The ten red ones are called:仁Benevolence, 义Righteousness, 礼Courtesy, 智Wisdom, 信Trust, 温Wen, 良Goodness,恭 Respect, 俭 thriftiness,让 courtliness.”

The five black ones are called: 慢sluggishness, 傲arrogance, 佞chicanery, 贪greediness, and 滥indiscrimination.”During the game, each player holds a wooden ball. Roll the ball out and hit the opposite stake. the goal is to hit the virtue of red and stay away from the evil of black. At the end of the game, whoever hits more virtues, whoever wins. The person who hits the most evils lost.

For Traditional Han music lovers, the Tang Dynasty is the ideal period to live in. the music culture was highly developed. The Tang Dynasty fully combined the difference in music from the north to the south, and absorbed a large number of foreign music singing cultures, so that many famous instrumentalists have emerged. In the poem” Song of the Pipa” by Bai Juyi, he used the verse, “It felt as though pearls of various sizes glided down to a jade plate.” to show that even a random people are able to play such a high level of music. From that, it proved how intense the music is and its wide influence
