Paul Klee was born in Münchenbuchsee, Switzerland, on December 18, 1879, and passed away in 1940, June 29. Paul Klee was a prolific Swiss and German artist best known for his large body of work, influenced by cubism, expressionism and surrealism.

Paul Klee is the son of a music teacher, Klee was a talented violinist when he is age 11, he was invited to play for the Berne Music Society. 

Academy of Fine Arts

As a teenager, Klee’s attention shifted from music to visual art In 1898, he began studying at the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich. By 1905, he had developed signature techniques, including drawing on blackened glass with a needle. Between 1903 and 1905, he completed a series of etchings called inventions, which was his first exhibition.
