in week 13, we learned about Canadian designs.ar the beginning of the lecture, a logo design with two Capitalized letters C and N looks familiar to it. it reminds me of the logos on the trains which stopped underneath the sea bus station skyway. all of that has to come to the logo designer, ALLAN FLEMING.

when ALLAN FLEMING was recruited to design a new logo for CN, he was only 30. However, the young Canadian designer has made a name for himself for his bold, lyrical graphic design.

He was born in Toronto, Ontario(7 May 1929). he designed the new logo for CN in 1959, he was working for the Typographic Company Cooper and Beatty Ltd.. Vice President and director of creative services. In 1962, he started to work for McLaren magazine. From 1968 to 1976, he was the chief designer of the University of Toronto Press.

Alexander Fleming’s work has won him many awards throughout his career. However, there is no doubt about his CN trademark designer also as a designer, he is best remembered. As it has raised his professional profile, it also opened the way for greater creativity in countless design applications across the country. Ellen Alexander Fleming died after a long illness on December 31, 1977, at just 48.
