From James Gleick

“With words we begin to leave traces behind us like breadcrumbs:
memories in symbols for others to follow.” (Gleick 2012, 258)

I picked this quote because it reminds me that everything we say or write can leave an influential impression on others. Gleick’s notion that written words have a special way of making an audience visually imagine a concept and make them consider complex ideas, classification, and domination is one that I like to think about when I’m writing my texts. I like to keep in mind that I’m trying to impart some sort of impactful awareness that I find other authors do so eloquently.
