Overall, while doing this Mood Board project I learnt a lot about different periods of time in the past. I chose to do it on the First Olympic Games held in Greece (776 BCE), Gunpowder & fireworks invented (China) (700-900) and First passenger railway in Britain (1825).

During my research into the First Olympic Games held in Greece, I found it fascinating how the Olympians would actually compete against one another fully nude. Figuring out that they run faster with no loincloth on, and their belief that in a ‘truly civilized society’ everybody was nude truly caught me off guard.

My main take away from the creation of Gunpowder & fireworks invented in China was how intriguing their use of colouring the firecracker is. Using ingredients around them, they managed to create a product that has changed how we celebrate events.

Being from England myself, I thought it was very interesting learning and researching about its past history regarding the First passenger railway in Britain. Building a railway line and a bridge in 1825 is a big accomplishment in itself, not to mention how they are both still functional and in-use!

I specifically chose these 3 events in time because of how well they can connect together, and actually advance each other. Starting with the origin of the Olympics, then to the making of fireworks, (to celebrate festivals like the Olympics) and ending off with the creation of the first public transit (which can get people to these said events/ festivals).
