Link here to see a brief version of my research proposal. I’m in the midst of the first phase, the Literature Review, which should take about four months.  Once I have completed reviewing and summarizing the articles on the topic, I’ll be embarking on Phase II, the interviews and surveys, after approval by the Institutional Research Ethics Board (REB).

Curious about the need for ethics approval for research with human participants? Check out the TCPS policy statement on Research Ethics at: http://www.pre.ethics.gc.ca/eng/policy-politique/initiatives/tcps2-eptc2/Default/

If you are planning to do any research with human participants, perhaps as a student in a Research Methods class, take the TCPS tutorial at: http://www.pre.ethics.gc.ca/eng/education/tutorial-didacticiel/

Sign in and include your Institution name. On completion you will receive a certificate you can submit to your instructor.

As a student conducting research which has minimal or no impact on your participants, your instructor can approve your research project proposal, so you must submit your proposal and have it approved before you carry out any research.
