This project was reflecting on the current fashion industry production and overconsumption. My animation focused on sustainable clothing and passing them on, rather than buying unnecessary amounts.

The story happens within one family household as the dad’s sweater becomes the mom’s scarf, then the daughter’s mittens, and finally the family dog’s boots. The style I chose for this animation was heavily focused on feeling hand-drawn to express the coziness of the home and the sweater.

Character Style

Only one colour was chosen (pink) to highlight the important clothing piece that brings out warmth while keeping the animation style simple and friendly.

Initial Storyboard Plan

To develop the flow of my animation I used the storyboarding technique that got farther developed into the timed out animatic to keep me on track of my timeline and helping with the animation planning.

Final Animation

I had lots of fun creating this animation but because I do not have a lot of animation experience, I focused more on getting it done as best as I could. If I could work on it more, adding exaggeration and different effects like stretch and squash would be ideal.

Thanks for your time!
