It was a super fun process to find visuals that represent my brand. In the beginning of the process, I started a brain dump by mindmapping key words describing highlights of my character. At the end, I settled on 2 keywords: joyfulness and duality.

These two directions gave me inspiration to create graphic representations. In particular, my name “Joyce” has a meaning of joyfulness that can be translated to a smile or a facial expression. A few of these examples also show how I used glyphs and punctuation to reflect my initials. As a note of reflection, I feel I could explore more variations with my full name with a more handwritten font. The main reason why I didn’t explore in that direction is because it doesn’t feel as digitized or represent my passion in interactive design. Nevertheless, I felt like it was somewhat a missed opportunity, and I would love to explore more variation in fourth year to show more uniqueness to my personal logo.
